Job Opportunity – Elections Media Monitors
Are you passionate about ensuring fair and accurate media coverage during elections? Media Monitoring Africa(MMA) invites applications for the part-time position of Elections Media Monitors for the upcoming 2024 National General Elections. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the democratic process in South Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor election news stories across various media platforms.
- Analyse and report on media coverage, ensuring fairness and accuracy.
- Provide insights into media trends and patterns during the election period.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and at least one additional South African language from the following: Siswati, Afrikaans, Setswana, Sepedi, Xitsonga, IsiZulu, Sesotho, IsiXhosa, Tshivenda, and IsiNdebele.
- Post Matric qualification; Media and Communications Studies background preferred.
- Familiarity with South African broadcasting regulations, political landscape, and the elections environment.
- Available to start work immediately.
Contract: Four Months
