Media Monitoring Africa (MMA), together with the Impact Amplifier are excited to invite all  Web Ranger ambassadors and child monitoring learners to join forces with them to create and develop online comic strips under the project Understanding Disinformation Drawings by Children!

The Understanding Disinformation Drawings by Children is a creative and educational filled programme starting in July 2021 – December 2021, where MMA will create and develop online comic strips, together with selected learners. Learners can expect to create 5-10 themed comic strips that will be distributed in various online platforms for other children across SA, to critically decipher information and discern between credible news and disinformation.

These skills will empower children to combat disinformation and encourage a media environment where children are more responsible and engaged. The programme seeks to recruit 50 learners between the ages of 12-17 years old. These participants must have access to a smart device and data/Wi-Fi for connecting, and also reside in Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Free State and KwaZulu-Natal.

As an organization that believes in universal access to the internet, MMA together with partners will provide participants with monthly data for training and engagement purposes, for the duration of the programme.
