MMA, SOS and Caxton have carefully considered the judgment of the Tribunal relating to the  contractual arrangements between the SABC and Multichoice in respect of the SABC’s archives and  the commitments given by the SABC in relation to future encryption of its broadcast signals.  We are disappointed with the Tribunal’s decision given the fact that we believe that Multichoice has assumed control over important parts of the SABC’s business. Accordingly, we intend launching an urgent appeal against the Tribunal’s judgment to the Competition Appeal Court.
