ICASA has responded to the SABC reiterating the resolution taken on the 11 July 2016. The Authority has restated it’s decision on accepting the Complaints and Compliance Commission’s recommendation. The Authority directs the SABC to, among other points,”withdraw its resolution as published in its statement of 26 May 2016, which states that the SABC will no longer broadcast footage of destruction of

public property during protests”.

On 19 July 2016, SABC responded to the letter from ICASA. SABC have acknowledged the order directed by ICASA and have asked the Authority to give the SABC until the 25th July 2016 to respond to the order.
