Media Monitoring Africa’s William Bird has told Newswatch that while South African media has become more sensational, our journalists are in no danger of sinking to those depths.

“The general response of the editors in the mass media is such that they fully support and endorse the principles contained in our constitution, and that’s an important thing because one of the founding values there talk about privacy and dignity,” he said.
